Become a Member

Membership in the British Columbia Association of Chiefs of Police reflects a commitment to professional leadership, collaboration, and the advancement of policing in British Columbia.

Classes of Membership

Active Members have voting privileges and may attend in-camera meetings of the Association.

Eligibility for Active Membership is limited to individuals serving in designated policing leadership positions, as outlined in the BCACP Membership Policy.

Associate Members may be granted to individuals employed by police agencies in the province or those involved in a specified sphere of law enforcement whose membership would support the Association’s objectives. Associate Members not have voting privileges and may not attend in-camera meetings of the Association.

Associate Membership is intended for individuals whose work aligns with and contributes to the objectives of the Association and public safety priorities in British Columbia. It is not intended to serve as a platform for commercial marketing, promotion, or business development.

 
How to Apply

Membership applications are completed online using the BCACP_Membership_Application_Form.

As part of the application process, applicants are required to provide a sponsor (reference) who supports their application. Instructions regarding the sponsorship requirement are included on the application form.

Applications are reviewed by the BCACP Board on the third Friday of each month.

 
Membership Fees

Membership fees are established by the Association and approved in accordance with the BCACP Constitution and Bylaws. Current membership fees are available through the online application process or by contacting the BCACP office.
