BC Law Enforcement Memorial

Website: bclem.ca/foundation

The purpose of the BC Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation was to create a Provincial Monument dedicated to those officers who lost their lives in active service to the citizens of BC. The task was completed in 2004 with “The Bastion” being unveiled in September 2004 at the annual memorial event, on the grounds of the BC Legislature. The Foundation has yearly retained responsibility for the review of new additions to The Bastion, ensuring present criteria are met in each incident as well as maintaining possession of the BC Law Enforcement Memorial Book where each name and incident is recorded.

Cops for Cancer began in 1997 with one police officer who wanted to make a difference. Today, it is an array of fundraising events that include law enforcement, first responder and emergency services personnel who cycle across regions and engage communities en-route as well as local head shave events. These events are vital in helping the Canadian Cancer Society fund childhood cancer research and uphold the largest cancer support system in the country.
