The CIFL foundational course equips law enforcement officers with the knowledge and tools to recognize and respond to the use of cryptocurrency by suspects in the field.
Designed specifically for frontline personnel, the course demystifies cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, offering practical insights into identifying indicators, understanding the ecosystem, and initiating investigations.
Participants will gain a comparative understanding of cryptocurrency and traditional currency, explore key blockchain typologies, and learn investigative techniques relevant to crypto-related cases. The course also covers field awareness, search warrant considerations, blockchain analytics, interview strategies, and asset seizure or forfeiture procedures.

Casey is a Senior Training Specialist at Chainalysis, primarily supporting customers in general cryptocurrency education, investigations, and product enablement.
Before joining Chainalysis, he served as a Detective for a mid-sized agency in the Southeastern United States focused on cyber and technology involved crime as a member of the US Secret Service’s Electronic Crimes Task Force and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Casey’s diverse background also includes nearly a decade in the training and development space where he has created several courses surrounding digital forensics, cyber investigation and cryptocurrency and has taught thousands of students across the globe in the public and private sectors.
